About HAJR
A recovery resource that also builds practical tools
HAJR helps people quit porn by combining harder-to-dismiss protection with a daily recovery system. On iPhone, it filters adult websites, blocks selected trigger apps and websites, and supports protected periods that cannot be weakened from within HAJR until the timer ends. Timed uninstall protection adds another layer of friction during vulnerable moments.
Protection is only one part of the experience. HAJR also includes daily check-ins, private progress tracking, journaling, streaks, achievements, a visual recovery journey, and optional pseudonymous community motivation. A separate Chrome extension extends protection to desktop browsing.
Our approach
We do not treat a blocking tool as a cure. Blocking can add useful friction, especially during high-risk moments. Lasting change may also involve identifying triggers, improving emotional coping, rebuilding routines, strengthening relationships, and seeking qualified care.
No blocker can guarantee recovery. HAJR brings protection and recovery tools together so users can make impulsive access harder, reflect on patterns, and stay engaged with the plan they choose.
Who writes the site
Articles are currently produced and maintained by the HAJR Team. We review sources, product behavior and reader clarity before publication. Our articles are not currently reviewed by a licensed clinician unless a page explicitly states otherwise. HAJR does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment. Where a topic needs clinical judgment, we direct readers to licensed professionals.
How HAJR is funded
The website is operated by the team behind the HAJR app and browser extension. The iPhone app requires a subscription for full access. Product relationships are disclosed because readers should know when the publisher also makes a tool mentioned in an article.
What we are working toward
Our goal is to make thehajr.com a useful, transparent library for recovery questions—from understanding compulsive patterns to choosing safeguards and finding support. We will continue improving older material as evidence and products change.
