HAJR editorial policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

Purpose

HAJR publishes educational material about problematic pornography use, behavior change, digital safeguards and faith-related recovery questions. Content should help readers make informed decisions without shame, sensationalism or false certainty.

Sources and health claims

  • We prefer peer-reviewed research, recognized clinical guidance, official documentation and primary sources.
  • We link sources close to the claims they support and identify important uncertainty or disagreement.
  • We do not present fixed “brain reset” timelines, guaranteed outcomes or correlation as proof of causation.
  • We distinguish compulsive sexual behavior disorder from casual labels such as “porn addiction.”

Product content and conflicts

HAJR publishes content and also makes an iPhone app and Chrome extension. Product pages and comparisons must state this relationship. Comparisons should use current official product information, explain who each option may suit, and avoid invented testing, ratings, user counts or success rates.

Religious content

Optional faith-based articles may discuss scripture, scholarship and pastoral perspectives for readers who seek them. They do not define HAJR's product positioning. These articles must clearly separate theological interpretation from medical or psychological evidence. Traditions are diverse, so disputed views should not be presented as universal fact.

Authorship and review

Content attributed to the HAJR Team is written or edited by the project team. Our articles are not currently reviewed by a licensed clinician unless a page explicitly states otherwise. We do not imply medical credentials that we do not hold. Substantive pages display publication or update dates. Health-sensitive articles should be reviewed again when relevant guidance changes.

Corrections

Material factual errors are corrected promptly and the page's updated date is changed. Send concerns to support@thehajr.com with the URL, disputed passage and supporting evidence.

Safety

HAJR content is educational and is not a diagnosis, treatment plan or crisis service. Readers with severe distress, risk of harm, sexual dysfunction, trauma, or persistent loss of control should seek appropriate professional care.
